2. The electric streetcar was popular among the people in the cities in United States after 1880. During the next 20 or 30 years from 1880 the electric streetcar was very popular with passengers in big cities all over the USA because it was no polluting, very efficient, carrying large number of passengers withour costing very much money for the passengers. However automobile manufactures and other business interest made an effort to get rid all of the streetcars in the streets and replace them with buses and car. Eventually the situation that all streetcars dissapeared and cars completely took over all the city streets.
